Puntata 6 - Tuesday October 16, h 2:46 pm - At the moment I am... on the road - Bonjour! [Bonjour! After a day-off where it catched to me a cold, and Paco (Giacomo Pasquali) with some sorrows at the belly – but however we rested, eh! – we are ready to go at Lyon’s venue. This city is enormous, and wonderful in some points. We have been here three times in the past, the last one with Tarja in a fantastic theatre.]

[Instead, this venue is a former brewery, as I read on Facebook, and it seems very rock. The problem is that, taking the address by the event, we arrive at home of some French miss, and we have to make various attempts to find the right place. We come to the venue, and the other bands are already here. The dressing room is small and a little equipped, but the kitchen works very hard, and cooks some delicious goodnessess. The cooks prepare us also some wonderful French cheeses. I find also some home production craft beers, especially the beer with honey is fantastic! Between soundcheck and lunch, the afternoon goes slowly, so me and Morris go to make a footstep on the riverside. The weather is hot and there’s a beautiful sun, but unfortunately the cold hurts me. I have to say that the 80% of the concerts I made, I played them with fever, plaques and various sickness and sorrows, so when there’s the voice to talk, we bring home the show, but it’s really a madness to have this sensation of broken bones and heavy mind.]

[Gloria from Overlaps says me that the audience is very interested, and in fact, since the first notes, they participate a tour show. On “Ocean” song, the hand form a sea of waves, at the sreams the people burn, and finally I can make a thing I ever wanted to make, and that is succeed a few times: making stage diving to the crowd, that luckily took me!]

[After the show, in another big room, there are two dj’s putting some good electro-music. I wish to dance until the morning after, but we have to go away, there are five hours driving to Strasbourg.]

[The day after we are in a good status, and we come to Strasbourg with a shiny sun. I didn’t wait that this city was so beautiful and rich. In the pm, trying to free from the cold’s bacteriums, I go running and sweating inside the core of the city. It seems to be in front of a gorgeus Medieval city. The little houses are made very well, the monuments are perfects, and the cathedral, seeing from far, at the certain point SBAM!, it’s just front of me! Obviously, Reno river goes through all the city, and there are boats, restaurant on the river, and this in every dock of the city.]

[Just arrived to the venue, I immediately embraced my lovely friend Sandy! It’s part of the game meeting some new friends along the way, but with Sandy it will be surely a very very long friendship :) Sandy made me a lot of presents! A thermic blanket (THAT YOU CAN RECHARGE AT THE VAN’S LIGHTER!!), a lot of chocolates and a large amount of sweetness; some hand-warmers (how much I wanted one!!!), and a ticket that opens my heart.]

[Like a true fan, she’s outside the door since 5:00 am, together with others bravehearts. I admire a lot their devotion…. Ehm, I would say their dedition.]

[The venue is so amazing, the sound is perfect. The kitchen prepares us some good delicacies for all the afternoon, and we stay so relaxed and easy. The show is a big success, many many people are very hurted, all fascinated! I didn’t wait this big hotness and warmth!! It’s really a pleasure to play these shows!]

[Sunday the trip is very short, and at 10 am we are at Substage, in Karlsruhe. 22°C, the sun is always shining, and we go to make a breakfast at the railway station, one of the few open stores. We find a lot of bad and scorbutic people, who says why… I go crazy when I see these things! If you don’t able to stay between the pople, don’t make a job like barman or shop assistant!]

Typical bread in Karlsruhe

[We also meet the girls of the official fanclub of The Rasmus, that made a fantastic cake!! Ther are really strong! Also my friend Sandy is part of this organization, but unfortunately she can’t miss the job, so she follows us by the web. I go to the Backstage, and I seriously feel that something is not good for me. The throat ache going down, but the voice strats to go away. With a simple throat ache I can sing, but with a laryngitis it’s no way, and in few hours, despite the ginger teas, I stay almost without voice.]

Like Pearl Jam, or The Black Crowes songs: a #Remedy for the voice

Grazie Tobias! [I don’t want to cancel the show!! There are a lot of people came only for us. I try fastly the songs, and I remain with a wire of voice. The sound engineer is my hero, that’s the man – that deserved a selfie to the value, ha made me all the possible to make me feel clean on the stage and outside. Thank Tobias!]

[Unfortunately, I should cut “Forgotten Soul” from the setlist, but howver we made a good show. I think that, in these situations, the experience and the amount of studies about voice and singing save your ass: holding on, I’m able to keep alive there little voice that remained me, for all the show. Yes, it’s a pain to be unable to give venta t your voice, but it’s alright; we need only to bring the show at home, sometimes.]

[In the nighttime, my guys book a hotel room in Frakfurt, that’s in our way, so worried for my health. Luckily, I have an antibiotic with me, ‘cause without that I would have really really sick, with high fever, throat plaques and bronchitis. This microbe took me perfectly. Frankfurt, in the night, is all an other city; in the streets there’s a lot of drunkers, pushers, junkies and vagabonds, and all of that fears me. At the hotel say me that there’s a private park, but it’s not true; indeed the park is on the street, and for a fee (!!!); so Finch is forced to bring the van in another part of the city, and sleeping inside. Obviously, we have to pay always for four persons, also the city tax. Moreover, in the morning the person (surely he was not a waiter) of the breakfast is really rude, and drive us away in a bad way, at 9:50 am. Surely, they will have a very bad review.]

[We come to Dortmund at the 2:00 pm, with usual load-in and load-out, before the check. Also here, the sound-engineers are very good and smart. The venue is fantastic, but the audience remains a little bit cold. It’s a pity, ‘cause I made the possible to be in a good form tonight, and instead, contrary to the previous show, only few fans seem to appreciate. Despite all, after the show we meet an amount of new fans, but at a certain hour, meanwhile everybody go to make a party in the city, I stay relaxed in my backstage, with my hot ginger tea. Anyway, I say this: ginger teas make nothing for the voice, only a few of relief in a first moment.]
